Christmas tartans from Scotland, Ireland, and Canada. As part of the joyous celebration. Eye candy to enhance the Yulttide and it’s pleasures. For some it’s the ideal time to be married. Whether you’re searching for an appropriate Christmas wedding tartan or just want to see some possibilities…here they are.
By no means is this all the red and green tartans. These are the ones I’ve run across while searching for other tartans. Some can be combined together, especially when they come from the same clan. Others stand out, completely on their own.
The jewels and beads that could be highlighted in jewelry, tiaras, even sewn onto the wedding gowns, is limitless…ruby, emerald, sapphire, pearl, amethyst from among the precious gems. Red agate, coral, garnet, ruby in ziosite, and carnelian for reds. Jade, aventurine, chrysocolla, chrysoprase, malachite, peridot, and serpentine for greens. Lapis Lazuli for blue. Tanzanite for purples.

Cork, Louth, Roscommon and Tyrone County Tartans from Ireland are very muted, for mellow, more subdued colors in your Scottish theme wedding.
Another grouping which are almost checks, rather than plaids, are Moncrieffe Clan tartan 963, Moray of Abercairney Clan tartan 184, and Moray of Abercairney Clan tartan 536.
The lighter greens and blues in these tartans drew my attention, reminding me of Blue Spruce and our native cedar trees ~
