Welsh Love Spoons

Originally carved by a young man and given to his lady love, they could be betrothal gifts, an asking of her hand in marriage, or a gift on their wedding day.

The love spoons have evolved into beautiful works of art, with many sources in Wales and the U.S..

Other Sources

Scottish Treasures in San Diego, California, has a selection of Scottish gifts including Christmas santas, a Highland doll, pottery, jewelry, and perfume, just to mention a few. If you’re shopping, take a look.

Highland Scapes, a source for quality photographs of Scotland, has several ideas for wedding gifts. As well as photographs, they offer photographic coasters, placemats, cutting boards, and mouse pads.

I particularly like their cutting boards. They’re tempered glass, with the photo mounted on the back side. They’re even dishwasher safe.

Any of these would make a nice wedding gift, or a thank you to the bridal attendants or parents. They would be such a nice reminder of the wedding day, in a form you could utilize daily in your kitchen.

We’ll be adding more details about the wedding gift ideas as we find them and time allows. Check back for more sources.
